Send an Email to Staff Dev/Cybermeetings

Instructions:

Listbot is a "distibutor of email". It allows our Staff Development Committment to hold "mini email meetings", as a supplement to our monthly "in person" meetings. This will allow us to plan and execute our plans, during the month, and to also improve our "work product" over the semester. this idea originated from Doug McFerran. Thanks Doug!!!

To join the listbot, type in your email address above (remember your email consists of two parts name@your email provider, so include both below (an example is David Jordan email address = abogado@pacbell.net, or johnjones@hotmail.com, or janesmith@yahoo.com (Note if you do not have an email address you mail get one at yahoo or hotmail (here are instructions on how to get an email account).

Once you type in your email address, it will ask you for your first and last name.That is all the information you need to give. It will ask for a "password". I suggest you use the same password you have for your email account, then you will not have to learn or forget another "password".

Then click on join. You must then go back to your email account, and check your new messages. You will have received an email message from the class lisbot which says "verification required". You are almost complete. Then just click on "reply all" or "reply" and then click on "send", and you are done. The reason you send the "verifier code" back to the listbot, and why verification is required is to prevent someone else joining you, without your permission, to many lists so you get an enormous amount of "junk" emails as harassment, and the above process ensures that "you alone" are voluntarily joining, and no one else for you.

There are two additional functions of the listbot. You can click on "archive of messages", and it will show you all of the messages sent to the listbot. This allows you to catch up on all of the past emails to the group if you missed any. You may also decide to start up a Staff Development "mini meeting" by using email, and you then just click on "Cybermeeting (email discussions), and start your email discussion.
